TEQUILA ROSE BAND

The Tequila Rose Band is a professional, talented group of musicians performing the hottest "New Country" hits along with some Country Classics and Classic Rock. I first came in contact with this band because a long time friend of mine was the guitar player some years ago. Although I'm not a big Country music fan, it's alot of fun live and I love to dance and always loved watching my friend play guitar. Seeing this band live is always a fun time and I still go see them perform even though my good friend has since left the band.

Original members Rick Newport and Gary Holly got Tequila Rose off the ground in 2002 and quickly rose to the top of the most in demand modern country bands in the northeast. Rick Newport rips on guitar! Whether it's Country music to a line dancing crowd or rockin' a set to a younger audience, Rick rips it up on guitar with searing leads and great vocals and Gary is always behind him pounding out the stompin' beats on bass.

There have been a number of drummers and guitarists who've played with The Tequila Rose Band and the current lineup includes John Brite on guitar and vocals and Mike Smith on drums. John comes from the west coast where he he had his own band called 'The Jolly Ranchers' and worked here in Jersey with a Tom Petty cover band called 'Damn The Torpedos's' before joining up with Rick and Gary. Mike is a new member who has been rockin' the stool for the past year or so.

Tequila Rose covers an array of artists which includes Keith Urban, Toby Kieth, Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Beatles, Tom Petty and pretty much anything with smokin' and twangin' guitars. Even though I'm more the metalhead and can be found on the electro club dance floor more than the country line dancin' one, I always make it out to see my friends in The Tequila Rose Band perform. They rock no matter what kind of music they're playing and it's always a stompin' good time on the dancefloor! It's all about havin' fun and you always will when you see them live!
